What's up with the password requirement??? Don't get me wrong. This is a great board and I have had a great time sharing experiences with other compact tractor owners. Unfortunately I really don't need another password to remember. I have useage specific passwords for the following enhancements to my life: Email at work, Vmail at work, Email at home, internet at home, credit card on line account, banking on line account, work telephone credit card number, stock market investment transfer, garage door opener number, an 888 number to retrieve work vmail from home, and the continuous social security number that serves as a user I.D. for most of the things that require a password. I will continue to view this board but I will not post to it with a password requirement. No offense to the web master but the password requirement marks the end of a free and interactive exchange between compact tractor owners to me.

Larry,

You can make you password anything you want it to be, so remembering it should
not be too hard, it can be any length more than "0". Membership makes it much easier for me to run the board, keep email errors to a minimum, and keep the quality high.

To change your password use this link
http://jplan.com/tractor/passwordC.sht.

If you want to use your SSN I can expand the password field to that number
of characters, in fact I will increase it to a max of nine characters right now.

Dennis,

Dennis, Do whatever it takes to keep the high quality of this board. I discovered this board about 2 months ago while searching for information on compact tractors. I had been considering a compact for several months and found as with most things these days there are to many choices to pick from. I gathered more information here in 3 weeks than I did on my own in 3 months. Information on problems, ptos, hydro pedals, brake pedal placement, attachmemts, pricing & saftey were all things I could have only have found out if at all by getting references from dealers and doing interveiws. Keep up the good work. Chris

I have modified the Membership Program so that now you can choose your own password after you join by going to http://jplan.com/tractor/passwordC.sht.

Now when you Post a Message you can select whether or not you want your Email Address displayed with your Post.

Dennis, thanks for responding quickly with some flexibility to be able to change password, etc. I think you're doing great. Only now with passwords I can't post my more far-fetched opinions under the name of "bo". (You all don't believe he thinks all that stuff up by himself, do you?) ....

Webmaster If I change my passwrod, I dont want it sent to me again via e-mail. And when i am entering my password why is it visible on screen insread of showing *** just as windows does. Password is a good feature because of which people can't pose as others.

Small chance of getting hacked, but it's still a good idea to wait for an e-mail password and get it off your ISP's server quickly. E-mail responses from the CTB were very quick.

It's also a good idea not to use the same pass word for discusion boards and for financial things.

Anway, I'm happy that I have the choice of not displaying my e-mail on the board. I used to be a target for bulk e-mail as well as viruses and worms. Hasn't happened since I changed ISP's and stopped displaying my e-mail on discussion boards. ....
